In 1896, the "Rheinische Gummi und Celluloid Fabrik" in Mannheim-Neckarau developed the blow-press method, a production process for hollow bodies made of celluloid, and immediately applied for the necessary patents. This marked the beginning of the production of doll heads and later table tennis balls using this method under the Schildkröt brand, which was retrospectively registered as a legal trademark in 1899, dating back to 1889. The turtle's shell resembles the tint and pattern of the celluloid products, which is why the turtle has been used as the company logo both then and now. It symbolizes indestructibility, durability, and resilience.

Schildkröt has been continuously producing high-quality products since the late 1800s. EASY CHOICE SYSTEM

The Schildkröt Easy Choice System makes it very easy for every player to choose between the large selection of rackets available and identify the product that is most suited to his particular playing ability and technical skills. The „Easy Choice System“ divides the players in eight levels of skill, from level 100 (beginner) to 7000 (very advanced player). Better materials and the correct combination of rubbers, sponge and wood will improve fun and skill considerably and permit more advanced playing techniques with each higher level of racket as quickly identified by the Schildkröt Easy Choice System.

Carbotec

For the first time in the table tennis history the wooden bat has been replaced by the new material. The carbon bats are harder and more twist-resistant than the traditional bats made of wood, and thus, offer an increased return of energy which means more power and a more dynamic game.

Carbon-Technology

Carbon layers in the plywood make the blade stiffer and enlarge the sweet spot. These blades produce less vibrations and offer a higher basic speed. The feel is considerably harder and more direct, the result is a lot of power and precision. Suitable for offensive players with high demands.

Anti Vibration System (AVS)

The Anti-Vibration-System (AVS) is a shockabsorbing system developed by Schildkröt. AVS offers improved ball control and reduced vibrations caused by the impact energy of the ball due to two special shock-absorbing soft layers laminated between blade and handle. As a result, AVS increases the accuracy of shots for both the defensive and the offensive style of play.

Adjustable Balance Point (ABP)

The ABP allows an individual adjustment of the balance point of the bat to suit individual styles of play. Head heavy balance: weight distribution towards the head of the bat offering more striking power for an offensive style of play. Handle light balance: weight is distributed closer to the handle of the bat allowing more accurate shots and ball slicing for a controlled style of play.

The shock-absorbing cork handles always lie perfectly in your hand, even with wet hands. They ensure a perfect grip and an optimal control.

Anti Shock Grip (ASG)

Due to the use of shock-absorbing foam covers the Anti Shock Grip is an all-round dampened grip system.

Power Light System (PLS)

The hollow handle of the Power Light System (PLS) reduces the total weight of the blade and transfers the centre of gravity towards the head of the blade, thus offering much more power and speed while maintaining excellent feel.

Ergo Handle

The ERGO (ergonomic) handle fits anatomically perfect to the hand, handle and bat feel to be one! The rounded shape of the ERGO part avoids pressure in the hand and provides a particularly comfortable and pleasant handle feel.

Quick Rubber Change (QRC)

With the QRC (Quick Rubber Change) rubbers you can simply stick on the new or higher-class coverings. The unique Schildkröt QRC system is designed to replace and upgrade rubber and sponge within seconds. Simply pull the old one off and stick on the new one.

Protection Line

With the Protection Line the fraying of racket coverings is no longer a problem. The special edge tape protects not only wood and rubber, but also the whole racket covering from being plucked or removed by children. That way the racket covering will remain undamaged for a longer period of time.
