As the hyphen in the name Talbot-Torro indicates, the brand was originally split in two separate companies. Derek Talbot was a top British badminton player in the 1970’s, who contributed significantly to make badminton an Olympic sport. After retiring from his sporting career, he founded the Talbot company. In the 1990s, the Talbot company was taken over by the owners of the brand Schildkröt Sport. In collaboration with Derek Talbot and the expert product development team of Schildkröt Sportartikel, our racquets have been further developed to become high-quality, competition level racquets.
The Torro company was founded in Hamburg in the 1980s. In 1992, this young, up-and-coming brand was taken over and merged with Talbot to become Talbot-Torro. Today Talbot-Torro is regarded as the leading brand in the high-quality, leisure badminton market across Central Europe and it is a sister brand of Schildkröt.

Our Racket-Technologies

Power Waves

The bowed arches on the outside of the frame minimize the friction resistance of the strings at the deflection points and thus ensure a lower alternating load. The result is the elastic string providing more energy transfer through the increased trampoline effect. This maximizes the ball acceleration by approx. 5%.

Graphite Handle

The handle made of 100% graphite makes the racquet ultra-light. By using graphite instead of wood the weight of the racquet is reduced by 5g and thus the center of gravity moves towards the head of the raquet resulting in an extremly light head balanced raquet offering a lot of power.

Mega Power Zone

Larger grommet holes on both the left and right of the inside frame make the “Mega Power Zone”. These bigger holes allow the strings to swing more freely and cause a higher rebound effect in the sweet spot area, thus yielding more power.

Multitaper Profile

The thin aerodynamic structure of the frame getting wider in the upper and lower head yields more weight/power to the swing and increases the torsion stiffness for control.

Power Bridges

The colored elastic polyurethane bridges on the outside of the racquet head are compressed by the string that runs over it during the ball’s impact. This energy is then added to the ball as an additional acceleration. At the same time, the PU bridges have a shock-absorbing and a vibration-inhibiting effect.

Air Flex

The Talbot-Torro Air-Flex cap is a soft PU insert between the handle and the shaft, which allows a flexible positioning of the shaft in the handle. As a result, the shaft can easily flex in the area of the handle. The overall flexibility is increased giving the racquet more power at impact.

Triangle Profile

The unique triangular profile shape of the head makes the racquet frame torsion-resistant. In this case, balls which are excessively hit are not as scattered. At the same time, the triangle profile is aerodynamic and produces less air resistance during impact.

U-Profile

The inside of the racquet head features a concave curvature through the U-profile. This U-shape enlarges the overall length of the cross strings. The strings can swing so much more creating a greater trampoline effect and more acceleration.

Isometric Head Shape

Isometric racquets have a slightly larger, squarish head than classic racquets. Therefore they have a larger sweet spot for a flawless game when the balls are not correctly hit.

Slim Shaft

New slim shaft with approx. 0.5mm reduced diameter for super-light racquet weight, reduced air resistance, resulting in top handling and increased speed.

Long Shaft

A special 1cm longer shaft gives the racquet more leverage and more force. The result is more powerful and fast hits.
